Games....2000's and beyond!

Well we al know how much games and thier platforms have developed throughtout the past 6 years of out all too wonderfull lives. The more we get into the 21st century, the more advances and cmplex the consoles become. With companies like Sony and Microsoft being the biggest two on the market and develping an even better console ever few years, the competition is tough nowadays. Companies such as Ni ntendo are beginnging to make a comback into the gaming world, with releases such as the Gamecube, Nintendo DS and the long awaited Wii. (i remember back in the day when Nintendo was very popular...considering it was the N64, Sega Megadrive and the PS1 only available)

Back in 2000, the readily available consoles were things such as Playstation 1, Gamecube, xBox, and playstation 2 (even thought it seems t me it was released so much later) this was when the games market became more competative than ever. With more and more consoles becoming available, games becamse more popular and the genres began to change rapidly. The early 2000's saw the introduction of games covering genres of mystery, action and Violence. These years also saw the release of the Harry Potter films which had a huge impact on the games world once they became available to play on a variety of platforms. This period also saw the release of the Game Boy Advance from Nintendo, bviously sparking the re-release of popular games within the Mario Bros and Donky Kong series. The graphics on the earlier platforms were spectacular back in those days...but seem 'lame' nowadays with the curent graphics available. Using more polygons and pixels within the designing creates a more detailed and graphically clear picture. Kingdom Hearts wasreleased in 2002......a very popular game then and still even now...even better with the recent sequel which has been made. Everybody seems to love it!

Microsoft have not long released the extremily popular xBox 360, which is set to introduce 'Next Generation Gaming'. It is the sequel to the increasingly popular xBox console released in 2001 which caused uproar for Sony at the time. Even though the new Nintendo Wii is due out thie december, the PS3 however is said to be taking over the xBox 360 reign in march 2007......
It is known to have incorporated the world’s most advanced Cell processor with 'super computer' like power, giving it the most anticipated release date around. Some of the consoles due out are the most anticipated ones around.....anybody would thing were all a generation of gamers or something!! prices can be extortionate though if you ask me!

Todays society holds a lot of pressure for the games inductry. With each console, it needs to be 110% better than the last, and once you have the best one going...its very hard to beat. Things like better and faster processors, huge graphics card and built in hard drives have become popular components within the platforms. The expectations of the new consoles are hard to meet.....mostly they are met and pople go crazy when its so God Damn Good...but some people can still sit and slate them. Why? I dont know i cant answer that one. But hey feel free to find one of those people and ask them yourselves!

One of the main developments that 21st century gaming faced i suppose was the extremily steep price rise. As shown on the left (ooooooooooo get me im using images). Another one of the developments can be seen as consumer demand. As the years went on, the better and more complex the games became, the more of a demand there was for them, thus creating higher production costs and a faster production rate due to the demand. In 2006, they are aware of the demand for games and such so high mass production is considered before making the product ass they can see how the demand had seriously increased.

When the playstation first came out, i wasnt allowed one. I had to wait about a year :( damn parents...anyways..... when i did get my hands on it i was given a game called Abe's Exodus: Oddworld....it is one of THE best games i hevr EVER played! (if youve not played it you really should) it was a strategy game which wasnt repetative and each new screen posed great challenges. I never got bored of the game. Its one of the longest games ive completed, but it was totaly worth it, trying to get through the levels is of great amusement and the voice controls can be highly amusing.
If you ask me, games like that in the futrue will be much more interactive. A view of one of my friends is that 'games in the future will be much more interactive, games will no longer be cd's but crdit card sized. The games will have advanced much more and would have an individual ending for the person playing, whether it be through the way they play or thier personality. Each time the game is played, it will be slightyl different whether its the beginnign, middle, enf or the whole thing' They of course were talkin about way way way in the future, but who knows it oculd be sooner than we think! id love to see that happen, i totally agree! dont you??
