Week 20: Creativity!

Creativity, as a subject matter, it is one of the broadest things you can talk and think about. Creativity comes from many places, people, the human mind and objects. Its applied in thousands of different ways and interpreted differently by each of us individually.
To some, art isnt paint on paper. Its the process of thought or being somebody else acting) Creativity is seen every day, even if we dont realise it. Everything around us is creative, whether it be something of an artistic form or a technological form, or even a mixture of the two.
Wikipedia defines creativity as a mental process including the generation of new ideas and concepts or new assocations between existing ideas and concepts. The everyday concept of creativity however is simply the act of making something new. Everyday we make new thoughts, new actions, new sounds even new moves. Were always being creative to some extwent, even if you see yourself as an academic person rather than a practical artistic person.

There is no set answer to the question 'who does or makes creativity?' when refering to games. Everybody has thier own creative input, whether it be modelling, drawing, sounds or leading a team which could involve problem solving. Each person is responsible for a different kind of creative value within the team and overall process.
Some people will need to be more artistically creative, some more musically creative, especially when a game is being produced which isnt already based on something which exists such as the Resevoir Dogs game being based on the already made film.

As previously stated in this blog, creativity is expressed in many different ways. It can be expressed through a painting - abstract, expressionist, impressionsist or realist? It can be expressed by acting - How will you portray your character? are they fictional or non fictional?
Creativity can be expressed through thoughts. Are you introvert or extrovert? are you always coming up with new ideas or concepts, or do you let other people do all the thinking?
Creativity has no set expression, the most common association with creativity is doing something artistic, but everything is creative, even if we, as a whole nation, a whole world, dont always realise it.

I cannot say that anybody particulally seems overly creative for me because each person has thier own ways of expression and each person has a different ability when it comes to creativity. Some people are more creative than others.

When creating games, everybody has thier own input to create an overall game. Some cames create problems and provoke emotions. Gameplay in itself can be said as being creative. You might have to use your creativity to solve problems and things within the game. Or you could use your creativity to change outfits of the characters and things.

I would like to show my creativity in the form of 3D modelling. Its not untill you study the area, or do some background reading, you actually realise how much time and effort goes into making those games, characters and scenes and stuff. I now appreciate the tiome and effort people put into these things, and how much patients they have to have to do it.

If we didnt have creativity, we wouldnt be in the world we have today, We would still be in the stone age.
