Creativity: Beginnings of a close

I think there would be too much writing wise if i continued to blog about the conference last week in as much detail as i have. However i did thoroughly enjoy it! Margaret A. Boden's work really made me think of new ways of looking at creativity, not what it is but how you encourage and discourage it, and how it is split into different forms of creativity.

I would never have thought of looking at that aspect before (and even if i did i probably wouldnt have found it anyway). The ways in which she has gone into such detail in her writings amazes me. There was a lot of thought and research which has gone into this, and although a lot of it is explained well, there are still some bits which make me wonder 'Now why would you think about that?'.

I am intrigued by other peoples trains of thought. Its like were all set a task, and whether the outcome be the same or it be different, the thought process will never be the same. I often sit and wonder how your mind comes to think of something.

I have a copy of margarets lecture notes if anybody wishes to take a look for themselves. She gave us her paper which she wrote and spoke about.

Ive find doing this blog quite hard, but once ive found a direction and/or starting point i find that i can find something to write about. Then its not quite as bad. But i struggle finding what to explore when there is so much available to me and so many areas which can be researched.

Creativity is in all of us, it just depends how we chose to express it. Each one of us has it! Its all around with everything even if you don't agree with it or think it exists, it does. Problems are being solved in creative ways all of the time.

You don't always think your being creative when you are. You can look at another person and thier work, and think 'Wow they are being so creative and imaginative' and then contemplate the creative values of your own.

However, even if you feel that other people are being more creative than you, they arent. They are just thinking differently to how you think, thus making it feel that you can be doing something wrong or not being imaginative and creative enough.
