Games.....1950's to 1970's....oh how they have changed

well....first official task eh. OH WHAT FUN!!!! ha ha only jokin.....*Prays that comment doesnt cause any trouble* It could be worse i supose its more interesting researching this than i dunno Henry VIII or somebody/something like that (no offence meant to all u wonderfull gamers out there who do like researching things like that). Anyways i suppose i better get on with the task in hand......

The 1950's began an era of historical brilliance! This is when technology began to develop more into playable games and is seen (in some parts) as a beginnig to the history of technology itself. The computer game was originally developed on equipment designed for military and academic purposes, simply being because it has the capabilities to deal with all of the things it needed to deal with. But today the computer game is the driving force in the development of much hardware such as 3d graphics accelerators.

It is said that the first ever game to be made was finally ready to be played in 1958. It was created by William Higinbotham and it was called "tennis for two" (how original is that). IN 1962 thw second ever computer game was created by Steve Russell and was titles "SpaceWar" This however was the first game intended for computer use as Russell used a MIT PDP-1 mainframe computer to design his game. Then came the first game to be played on the TV set. This was in 1967 and created by Ralph Baer. The game was titles "chase". The idea for this game was conieved in 1951, however took 16 years to be made and able to be played.

Throughout those years, The standards and ideas for the first computer games were set. But as technology progressed with the years, so did the games. To be honest with you, altho thr graphics arent great, some of the bets computer games come from wayyyyyyyyyyyy back in the day like the good olf pac-man, asteroids and things like that. But nowadays its very hard to come across a good, simple game like that because things have progressed so fast and more can be created. Hence the availability of the widest games variety ever recorded!

If u ask me, Ralph Baer started computer games which were meant to be played. He seems to have created thr first one able to be played on a tv screen...which, as we all know is how all games are played nowadays! well on some form of screen anywho! To want to design/build/programme computer games, you must have had some sort of background to do with games and have a passion for them, whether they be old or new.

My history of computer games starts very young, We got our first family computer when i was about 5, when things ran in DOS mode so for years i was playing those games! those ones which had as many pixels as possible, graphics were shite bit the intention was right! prince of persia, duke nukem, lemmings, paranoid (anybody remember those?? lol) I loved those games...but not as much as i love todays! first console was a Sega Megadrive....and of course the first thing i did on that was play SONIC! what a game eh! glad hes still around today! I like different types of games, some are boring some arent...it depends on whos made it and hwat i am playing it on. I ucrrently have an Xbox and PS2....as well as the original PS that was released...ill let u know wot i am playing at a later stage........

I think i have rambled quite enough now for this task....so im gonna leave it at that for now...........

Good start so far, not so much misery yet! Try to wean yrsf off the txtspk as soon as possible though. Oddly, althouigh it's quicker to type it's slower to read and the reader is the most important person. ie, me!
