Gamneplay can be defined as follows:
"Gameplay includes all player experiences during the interaction with game systems, especially formal games. Proper use is coupled with reference to "what the player does".
So basically its saying that gameplay is the experiences you have whilst plaing the game, and what the player does whilst playing the game.
To me, you cant precisely define gameplay, i think its different for each person due to how they interact with the game. For example i might react differently to Call Of Duty than how the rwst of you do, I dont get atached to that game, i dont do much, whereas u lot might get quite violent and into it!!
And dont lie about that....Ive seen you lot play!
You cant really say gameplay actually exisits, well it does but it doesnt. You can see the way people react with games and such but that could be simply because of thier personal likes and dislikes. People can get into games without suffering greatly from gameplay. Its the random convergence of several interacting factors, its not built into a game i dont think. How can you build gameplay into a game when you dont know how the game will affect people and how they will react to it. If you have gameplay, then the game can become addictive, thus meaning you will play it all the time and it will become a success for the designers and the companies. This view would imply that gameplay itself is important.
I know iw as very interactive and addictedto one game when i was little...back in the day when the PlayStation had not long come out., The game was Oddworld: Abes Exodus. I loved that game, i hvaent found a game since which has had me gripped like that one did. DOnt get me wrong i do get hooked to games and whatnot, but nothing ever to that degree. Even my Parents were just as addicted, We all had to fight over who got to play thier game.
Now ive written about gameplay and thought about playing games...once again....i must go on a quest to finish some kind of levels....trouble is....what game do i now play huh??
ciao!!
