Well uni is over and ive almost finished my Coventry project, but what to do next?
Hopefully ill get another project to do for Coventry because well i need the money and it will also ensure that i keep striving to work towards industry standard modelling.
Alongside my next (possible/probable) Coventry project, i would like to do some personal ones, just for me. To prove to myself i can do my own projects and know more than i think i do and can do things.
I have begun building the Friends TV set, i love the show and want to do environments after i have graduated so it will help me along with that. Plus it will help me get used to having to create larger things on my own and creating my own specifications for a project.
Everybody has been talking about the little mini competitions they have on Game Artisans. The current one is 'Gateway to the afterlife'
This i find interesting.
Partly because its environment based, and secondly because there's so much you can do with it and the afterlife etc always interests me. The difference in theories, ideas. The fact that nobody actually knows what happens afterwards. Its such a great mystery anything could happen.
I have started a model for this competition. I dont know if i will hand it in, i just want to do it for me. Looking at the forums on the website and things you can see the quality of work which is out there and i want to try and get to a decent level.
The things people do using zBrush and the way it can change the feel of your work and its always a nice skill to have.
So there i am, downloading zBrush, i open it and boy, am i lost. Understanding the tools is even harder than max when you first start! Ive stolen the tutorials which were on the K drive and they have helped a bit but its adjusting to what not to do within the programme and your models.
I'mslowky getting to grips with it, i feel that learning to use zBrush is just something i want to do for myself and can help me to improve my way of thinking.
For instance, if i can get my head around zBrush and get relatively good at it, then perhaps with other things it will give me a more positive outlook.
Anyway thats enough information overload for one night.
Will and Grace has just finished downloading, lets watch that.
